EURING General Assembly 2007

Preliminary Schedule


The Meeting of the European Ornithologists Union (EOU) will be held in Vienna 24 – 29 August 2007

Wednesday, 29 August 2007

Shuttle Bus from Vienna (EOU conference) in the morning (scheduled arrival in Fertőújlak at noon). Arrival of all other delegates by car, train, plane; registration and room occupation.

Lunch at Fertőújlak.

In the afternoon EURING board meeting, for the other delegates a field trip will be offered. Registration for those who arrive in the afternoon.

In the evening dinner at Fertőújlak, probably start of the meeting program after dinner.

Departure of delegates (except board members)

9:00 – 14:00 Board meeting, then departure of board members.

Announcement of Elections: Please note that we are expecting to hold elections for new board members at the General Meeting on 30 August. According to the constitution nominations for candidates for one ordinary board member can be made by all member schemes. Please send nominations not later than 24 June 2007 to . Details of candidates will be circulated at least two weeks before the General Assembly.

Reports of the Schemes: All schemes are requested to submit a written report on their activities two weeks before the General Assembly. Reports should be submitted to the EURING website administrator ( ) in an appropriate electronic format and will be made available to all schemes via the website. Paper printouts can be brought to the meeting.
Oral reports should only be held when there are significant developments in the scheme that need any further consideration and discussion at the general meeting. Schemes who wish to give an oral report should send a note to the general secretary ( ) not later than three weeks before the meeting.

Agenda for the EURING business part of the meeting: All schemes are invited to name items for the agenda. Such agenda items must be received by the General Secretary at least one month before the meeting (30 July 2007). Standing items for the meeting will follow the list of the EURING constitution.
