Different schemes have, historically, had different procedures
for the central processing and storage of reports of birds which
have been ringed and subsequently encountered again. The EURING
Data Bank only holds data for birds which are regarded as 'reportable'.
For example, some schemes have minimum distances, or times between
ringing and finding before a live recapture of a bird will be handled
centrally.
The conditions for being reportable are given in the 'Recoveries
reported' column below.
