EURING General Assembly 2007

Invitation

Herewith we cordially invite representatives of all EURING member schemes, of all associated member schemes and of the IOC Standing Committee of Bird Marking to our next General Assembly which will be held from 29 August 2007 to 31 August 2007 in Fertőújlak (Fertő-Hanság National Park, Hungary - about 70 km from Vienna at the Hungarian side of Lake Neusiedl; 47°41'N 16°50'E, HG32).

For this meeting we will be kindly hosted by our colleagues from the Hungarian Bird Ringing Centre. The Hungarian Bird Ringing Centre celebrates its 100 years anniversary in 2008. We will meet in a house of the Fertő-Hanság National Park, where we have most things on site and are situated in the park with lots of opportunities for bird watching in the nearest vicinity. Nevertheless, there is also a lot of work to be done at this meeting and we hope that you find a way to participate.

Since our last General Meeting there have been important developments in the operation of the EURING databank. This meeting will include an important workshop on the exchange of data between member schemes and the EDB. The Board strongly urges members schemes to ensure that they send representatives who understand their data processing systems and are able to participate in this workshop.
